Crib!

Ok…so i have only found 1 crib that i like….and its at target.

so far these are the things i want to get Kiera:

What a weekend!

This weekend was sooo nice! On Saturday the whole family woke up early and went to Newport Beach to spend the day. It was a tad overcast but still very nice. We all got sun burnt of course…and I now can see where I forgot to put sunblock, ouch. haha.

I loved laying on my stomach for a change! I dug a hole in the sand and was happily laying on my tummy :] I wore my new maternity bathingsuit that my mom bought me from old navy…I like it and feel comfortable in it which is nice!

After the beach we all went and ate mexican food, yummm.

The ride home was full of sleepy beach goers and we all napped. haha.

It was really nice to do something as a family…and I hope that we do this kind of stuff more often!

Today I am 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I am almost at the 20 week mark! yay! which means im almost 1/2 way thereee!

Doctor visit and Update…

So on the 25th i met with the doctor,….which was my scheduled amniocentesis appointment.

He said that the problem he saw was extra blood flow to her brain. On the u/s he showed me the 2 dark spots on her brain where the extra blood was. He told me that there was a 1% chance that it wouldnt clear up on its own, but if i had the amnio done…we would know forsure if something was going to be wrong with her.

I declined the test. i figure that a 1% chance of defect is not enough cause for me to have a test done that has a 5% or more chance of miscarriage and infection.

So i go back in a month to get yet another u/s to see if the blood had cleared up.

Annnd i have a normal doc appointment on the 11th with MY doctor and I get to tell her EVERYTHING that has been going on. ugh.

so…until then :]

 

AFP test.

Well this morning i called MY doctors office and asked to have my AFP results, because no one has contacted me yet,….and i explained the other doctor wanted to give me the amnio.

so she found my chart and told me that my AFP test was completely normal.

I then called the OTHER doctors office and spoke with a u/s tech and explained the situatuion…and she told me to STILL come in for my appointment so I can speak with the actual doctor.

So on wednesday I will go in there, tell doc Brar that my AFP was normal….and BEG him to do one more extensive ultrasound before i risk having an amniocentesis done.

so….wish me luck

Fetal Anatomy Scan!

I just got home from my FETAL ANATOMY SCAN and they informed us we have a baby girl.The U/S tech was concerned bc Kiera wouldn’t unclench her fists….and she said that it is usually a sign of downsyndrome or another defect called spina bifida. Its a neural defect that affects the muscle control i was told.  So after 10 mins of poking and pushing her to wake up…she finally opened her hand, then closed it again…and that made the tech feel a little better.

However,I was told I need an amniocentesis. where they place a hollow needle in my abdomen to collet fluid from the sac.
There’s possible harm to the baby during this such as infection or miscarriage.Buuuuut….I’m going to try and stay positive.
Its kinda hard not to cry or be overly freaked out.

But lets hope that everything is okay….and the tech is just being catious.
